چکیده
Three-dimensional direct-write lithography can be used to pattern waveguides into diffusion photopolymer using low-power CW lasers as an alternative to femtosecond writing in glass. We show that polymer chemistry permits significant control of waveguide shape. © 2005, Optical Society of America OCIS Codes: (130.3120) Integrated optics devices, (160.2900) Holographic recording materials, (130.3130) Integrated optics materials, (160.5470) Polymers

We demonstrate single-mode uniform and parabolically tapered three-dimensional waveguides fabricated via direct-write lithography in diffusion-based photopolymers. Modulation of the writing power is shown to compensate Beer-Lambert absorption in the single-photon initiator and to provide precise control of modal tapers. A laminated sample preparation is introduced to enable full 3D characteriza...
متن کاملThree-dimensional direct-write lithography into photopolymer.
We demonstrate a three-dimensional direct-write lithography system capable of writing deeply buried, localized index structures into diffusion-mediated photopolymer. The system is similar to that used for femtosecond writing in glass, but has a number of advantages including greater flexibility in the writing media and the ability to use low power, inexpensive, continuous-wave lasers. This syst...

We describe two methods, liquid deposition photolithography and holographic lithography, for fabricating two-dimensional arrays of optical waveguides with high channel counts. Both methods rely on refractive index patterning via monomer diffusion in photosensitive polymers. © 2012 Optical Society of America OCIS codes: (130.5460) Polymer waveguides
